About Wildwood
Wildwood is a family resort on the coast at the southern end of New Jersey. It is just north of Cape May. It is a vacation resort known for it's wide sandy beaches, boardwalk and nightlife. It's also famous for it's Doo Wop hotels. There are inlets north and south of wildwood that provide easy access to the Atlantic Ocean for sport fishing. The Intracoastal Waterway passes the Wildwoods on the bay side. The bay provides ample opportunity for fishing, sailing, jet skiing and other water sports. Due to the geography and currents, the Wildwoods have one of the widest beaches in New Jersey.
The Wildwoods are actually comprised of three separate municipalities: Wildwood, North Wildwood and Wildwood Crest. Each of these are governed separately.

Getting there.
If you are coming from Delaware, you can take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry and then go north on Route 9 or the Garden State Parkway. From Philadelphia, you can take the Atlantic City Expressway to the Garden State Parkway and then proceed south. Likewise from North Jersey and New York, you can follow the Garden State Parkway south.
Other nearby attractions.
While there is plenty do do in Wildwood, you can also travel about a half hour north to Atlantic City with it's Casino's entertainment and sophisticated nightlife. If you enjoy a quaint Victorian setting, beautiful Cape May is just about 15 minutes south. For aviation buffs, the Naval Air Station Wildwood hosts a great collection of vintage aircraft.
Transportation
The Five Mile Beach Trolley Service provides transportation from Anglesea avenue in the north through the entertainment district, the main street business district, the boardwalk and the DooWop district. They can be reached at 609 884 5230.
There is boardwalk tram that you can board just about anywhere the runs the full length of the boardwalk.
Surfing
Each of the municipalities : North Wildwood, Wildwood and Wildwood Crest have their own regulations regarding surfing.
Events
There are a number of events throughout the year. These include a Fourth of July fireworks display, monster truck races, Hobi Cat competitions, and powerboat races.
In October there is a Fabulous Fifties Celebration with a memorabilia show and sale, exhibits of1950's culture, DooWop trolley tours and more.
